ShareDNS

ShareDNS is a bulk DNS hosting provider rather than a registrar or a marketplace. Its name servers carry DNS for nearly 3 million domains, covering premium .COM names as well as newer extensions such as .TOP and .CYOU.

The SHARE-DNS.NET name servers alone handle over 2.8 million .COM domains, plus hundreds of thousands more across dozens of other TLDs. The distribution across newer extensions is uneven in a way that carries information: 276,588 .TOP domains, 122,387 .CYOU domains, and 113,021 .VIP domains. That profile points to relationships with registrars and bulk domain investors rather than retail signups.

Operations run across multiple DNS clusters, using both share-dns.com and share-dns.net name servers, and both sit on Cloudflare's global infrastructure rather than a network ShareDNS built itself. The arrangement gives the hosting service the reach and uptime characteristics of a major CDN operator.

The positioning is backend rather than retail. Instead of competing in domain registration, ShareDNS sells name server capacity to the companies holding the registrations: registrars needing scalable DNS, portfolio holders needing reliable name servers, and businesses wanting enterprise-grade DNS without enterprise pricing.
