Find out exactly when a domain was registered and how old it is.

Domain age is the amount of time that has elapsed since a domain name was first registered with a domain registrar. It is calculated from the creation date recorded in the domain's WHOIS record (RFC 3912) to the current date, expressed in years, months, and days. The creation date is set by the registry operator (such as Verisign for .com and .net) at the moment of original registration and cannot be modified after the fact. Domain age is distinct from domain authority — age measures time since registration, while authority reflects accumulated trust signals like backlinks, content quality, and consistent uptime. A domain registered 10 years ago but never used has high age but zero authority. This domain age checker queries the authoritative WHOIS or RDAP (RFC 9082) server for any domain and calculates the precise age instantly.
Domain age serves as one indicator of trustworthiness and legitimacy. While search engines like Google have stated that domain age alone is not a major ranking factor, older domains often have accumulated advantages: established backlink profiles, content history, and brand recognition.
For a complete picture of a domain's registration, use the WHOIS Lookup. To check when renewal is due, try the Domain Expiry Checker. For DNS configuration, the DNS Inspector provides a comprehensive analysis.
Enter any domain name in the search field above. The tool queries the authoritative WHOIS or RDAP server for that domain's TLD, extracts the creation date, and calculates the exact age in years, months, and days. Full URLs are accepted — the domain name is extracted automatically.
Results include the age as a prominent number, the exact creation date in ISO 8601 format, the registrar that processed the original registration, the expiry date, and EPP status codes that indicate the domain's current state (such as clientTransferProhibited or serverDeleteProhibited). For deeper analysis, use the WHOIS Lookup for full registration records or the Domain Expiry Checker to see when renewal is due.
| Age | Classification |
|---|---|
| 0–30 days | Brand new |
| 1–6 months | Very young |
| 6 months – 2 years | Developing |
| 2–5 years | Established |
| 5–10 years | Mature |
| 10+ years | Legacy |
Note: domain age alone does not determine rankings or trustworthiness. A 1-year-old domain with excellent content can outrank a 15-year-old parked domain. Age is one of many signals that search engines and security tools evaluate together.
