ClouDNS is a managed DNS provider founded in 2010 that runs an Anycast network spanning 65 locations across six continents. The platform handles over 8 billion queries per day for hundreds of thousands of customer domains.

The company operates on both sides of the domain stack: premium DNS hosting, and an ICANN-accredited registrar business with direct relationships to major registries. Most companies pick one or the other. ClouDNS sells both, at pricing that undercuts the assumption that enterprise-grade DNS has to be expensive.

DNS hosting is built around the Anycast architecture, where the same IP address is announced from multiple geographic locations. Queries route to the nearest available server, which reduces latency and provides failover protection. Monitoring is built into the platform and tracks performance across every point of presence.

Services have expanded beyond basic DNS hosting into GeoDNS (routing users to different servers based on location), DDoS-protected DNS, and monitoring that covers DNS resolution through to SSL certificate health. DNS Failover redirects traffic when primary servers go down, and monitoring nodes span 117 locations worldwide.

Domain registration capabilities have grown quickly, with direct accreditations from ICANN (for .COM and .NET), AFNIC (for .FR and French territories), and partnerships with GoDaddy and Identity Digital. Direct registry access means better pricing and faster domain operations without third-party intermediaries.

The stated target customer is a brand that "closely monitors the price-performance ratio": companies wanting enterprise-grade DNS infrastructure without enterprise-level pricing.
